Gluten Free Apple Cranberry Turkey Burgers Stuffed with Aged Cheddar

First off I would like to thank all those who entered the Udi's Fall Comfort Giveaway Contest! The lucky winner is listed in my Snickerdoodle Apple Crisp post.

Although it feels a bit more like winter here in Calgary this week, fall is a wonderful time of year to enjoy warm comfort meals. I wanted to give a few more of Udi's products a try and create an irresistible turkey burger. As turkey burgers are often a bit dry, I decided to add a few tasty elements like apple and cranberry to create a moist and sweet burger. And of course I couldn't leave it at that, so I tried the new trend of stuffing my burger with cheese. Topping it off with one of Udi's Gluten Free fluffy hamburger buns made it the perfect burger. The results were delictable! Even my husband who is a red meat fan when it comes to burgers asked if I was going to make more in bulk and freeze them. Hope you enjoy and it may leave you wanting more!

1 lb ground turkey
1 large Apple, peel included
2/3 cup dried cranberries

1/4 tsp black pepper
1/4 tsp thyme
1/2 tsp onion powder
4 white aged cheddar cubes or a few small slices per burger
4 Udi's Classic Burger buns, toasted
Garnishes for burger: lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles, etc

Maple Mustard Burger Sauce
2 tbsp dijon mustard
1 tbsp maple syrup

1. Mix together ground turkey, apple, cranberries, egg, breadcrumbs and seasoning in a large bowl until well mixed.
2. Make two thin patties per burger. Place cheese in the center of one patty and place other patty on top.
3. In a grill pan, heat 1 tbsp olive oil. Add turkey burgers and cook for 8-10 mins on medium heat flipping a few times until cooked through.
