Redwater Grille carries gluten free bread to start and was one of the best breads I have ever tried. I inquired and their supplier is a company called Care Bakery which is a wholesale bakery in Calgary. Their website lists the restaurants and retailers that carry their products in Calgary. The first time the bread came out it was cold on the inside, I requested it to be heated and it came back out all warm and toasted, it was served with an in house pear butter which was delicious.
For our main course I decided to try the Chicken Papperdelle Pasta- gluten free penne, rotisserie chicken, spinach, bacon and forest mushrooms all topped with a Parmesan cream sauce. I was very pleased with my choice, it was cooked perfectly and the flavours were scrumptious. Also the portion size was huge, I was able to take half home to enjoy for lunch the next day. My husband opted for a seafood option which when I met him over 10 years ago he would not even go near seafood and now he loves seafood. For the main entrees, such as steak, chicken and seafood, you have you choice of sauces and two sides. He enjoyed the Wild Shrimp and Scallop Duo with Chili Garlic Butter with Potato and White Cheddar Pave and Roasted Beets with Rosemary. We would recommend this restaurant for their gluten free and non-gluten free fare, a notable meal and a exceptional anniversary.
